Sick Day:(

At home, sick as a dog. I've been battling the flu this week. Not fun. I'm too sick to write for more than a few minutes, so I'm laying in bed watching movies.

The weather in Dallas has been pretty cold, so it's nice to simply lay in bed and rest. Since I'm too sick to be around my honey , (I don't want him to get sick too), I've been longing to watch a good romance. So far, I've enjoyed Pride & Prejudice (love it), Avatar, She's the Man, Braveheart, Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging, and The Holiday. All great movies!

If you have any movie recommendations, please post a comment. I have plenty of time to watch. 

Photo shoot with Steven D. Hill

I've been hinting about uploading new pictures to the site for ages. Well, I finally did and I could not be happier. I recently had the honor of working with makeup artist and photographer Steven D. Hill. What a talent! 

For those of you who don't know, Steven is an awesome Dallas, Texas photographer. When we started the project, I had two requests; 1) make me pretty, and 2) make me skinny. To be more exact, I said "I want Mariah Carey airbrushing" . This was a tall order. I'm not photogenic at ALL. In fact, most of my pictures are taken with a group of friends at some bar. We are drunk 99.7% of the time.

Fun fact: The picture on my homepage (the one I typically use when blogging) is NOT a posed picture. I did not purposely take the picture with the intent of looking away. The story behind that picture (the short one); I was trying to take a picture of my friends. I was on my third or fourth margarita and guess what ? … I dropped the camera. Camera flashed just before slamming to the ground. Good times. 

Back to my point, I do not have Tyra Banks 'smeyes'. Steven had his work cut out for him. The first few picks were horrible because I was so nervous. SOMEHOW, Steven managed to get me to loosen up and get a decent shot of me. I love the new pictures. The shoot was fun.

Blood Noir

Blood Noir by Laurell K. Hamilton

I began reading Laurell K. Hamilton's Blood Noir today.  This book is apart of the Anita Blake vampire series. This is my second attempt to review this series. I read Skin Trade earlier this year and I didn't enjoy it as much as I'd hoped. Hopefully this book will be a winner.
